Summer Running Streak, Day #22

Long day at home today taking care of the kiddo, who is still sick with a nasty cough. She slept most of the day, then my wife came home for a bit, before heading back out. The night shift was much rougher, with the little girl refusing food and screaming for over an hour straight. I did manage to calm her down by giving her a bath, but you can only stay in the tub for so long. Late night, which ended in her finally wearing herself out and falling asleep on my chest. Truly an awful feeling to watch one's child go through that range of emotions. Recording of crying and screaming babies are supposedly used on inmates at Guantanamo Bay. Seems like it would be a real punishment. Certainly is taking its toll on me.

In light of that I only ran a short run tonight -- mile and a quarter. Felt good to burn off some of the adrenaline. The moon is big and full -- with a tinge of yellow. The adrenaline was really surging, so I didn't really appreciate the night as much as I could have, but I have work early tomorrow so I also need to get some sleep in.
